40th REUNION TOUR

On the morning of August 3, 2002, many '62 classmates ventured through Roosevelt High, reflecting on past memories as part of our 40th Reunion celebration.

Mr. Tom Ohno, retired mathematics teacher, was our keynote speaker.
He provided many interesting historical facts about Roosevelt. He spoke about his background, his math classes, what is was like teaching at Roosevelt, and how our
Alma Mater has changed over the years. Sadly, Mr. Ohno passed away just two months later.

Teachers, Jill Jacobson and Tom Odendahl spoke about Roosevelt as it is today. The current school enrollment for grades 9-12 is between 1,250-1,300 students. Modern languages taught are Arabic, French, Japanese, Ojibwa, and Spanish. Students speak about 35 various languages in their homes. The process of bussing was also discussed.

We split into two groups, and each teacher led us through the halls to visit homerooms, choir and band rooms, the cafeteria, the gyms, the second floor to what we called the "new addition", constructed in 1958, along 40th Street, and whatever areas we wanted to see. Classrooms have been renumbered, but it wasn't difficult to find the ones we wanted. Also, the Alumni Room was made available for us to reminisce through old Sagamores and view other memorabilia that has been collected and donated over the years.

At the conclusion of the tour, we enjoyed light refreshments in the hallway at the front entrance, as we visited with '62 alumni.

Later that day, we continued our reunion celebration at the Minneapolis Airport Marriott in Bloomington. Below you will find a gallery of photos from the Tour and the Dinner.

40th REUNION DINNER

Here are some photos from our 40th Reunion held at the Airport Marriott Bloomington on August 3, 2002. This was our first reunion after a 15 year interim.
A totally new Committee was formed, and we took great pride in planning this event. You all made it the success that it was. A great time was had by all!
