ROCKETTES
Jump
kick, jump kick, jump kick - 16 bars! Jump kick, jump kick, jump kick!
We didn't have much variety for
music in those days, but we made good use out of "Jersey Bounce" and "Bye Bye
Blues". "South Rampart Street Parade" was a favorite.
We also entertained, on occasion, to the tunes, "Teddy Bear Picnic",
"Yellow Bird", "Tea for Two", and "Washington Post March".

Rainbow Foods on Lake Street happens to be
built on the original location of the old Minneapolis Arena,
located at Dupont Avenue and Lake. The arena was built in 1924 for the
Minneapolis Millers hockey team, with seating for over 5,500 spectators.
It opened on October 31, 1924. The Minneapolis Millers played there from
1924 until 1963, and the Minneapolis Bruins used the arena for a couple
years in the middle sixties. The University of Minnesota hockey
team used the arena as one of its home rinks from the 1920s until 1950.
The Ice Follies came every year. The building was finally
demolished in 1966. Photo 1/7/59
